Electrical connections may be protected from moisture and corrosive vapours by use of a non-hardening waterproof sealant (R391/392) supplied by Prysmian. The material has the consistency of putty, has good insulating properties and can be moulded around terminals and connectors providing a moisture and mechanical seal for any form of enclosure.Prysmian Weatherproof Plastic Compound prevents electrical leakage or short circuits due to moisture ingress. It prevents corrosion of electrical contacts in industrial atmospheres and forms a seal around irregular openings, screw threads and covers of electrical equipment.
